Dr. Prendergast is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor – Advanced Certified, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Certified Temperament Therapist, Ordained Minister of the Gospel, and a Professional Clinical Member of the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). He holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, and an MBA in Business Leadership from Liberty University. He is also a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), a Member of the Association of Black Psychologists of South Florida Chapter (ABPsy), and a member of the Christian Mental Health Professionals of Broward (CMHPB). Dr. Prendergast was recently featured on TLC's 90 Day Fiance Last Resort, and on ESPN's Documentary “Long Live Seven, The Bryce Gowdy Story”. He was also a panelist on the National 'Just Heal Bro Tour' and was recently honored by the Florida Panthers Hockey for his leadership, dedication, and excellence in his community regarding mental health. Dr. Prendergast is committed to providing a foundation for all clients focusing on mental and emotional health while advocating for removing the mental health stigma affecting people of color. He is a father of two beautiful daughters and a handsome son and loves spending time with God, family and friends while advocating for his clients and those in need.

Meet Erica!

Erica Swinton is a master’s level intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Colorado Christian University.  She received her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Social Science from Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida. She has experience counseling at FHE Health working with First Responders and their families as a master’s level intern. She also has worked in roles working with youth and families as a Child Protective Investigator with The State of Florida and case management in the non-profit sector. Erica has over 10 years of experience working with a wide range of clients, from children to adults in the mental health field and education.

Erica works with a diverse group of clients and is able to meet their mental and behavioral health needs on a personal level. She has seen and served clients who dealt
with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, abuse, family-related issues, and behavioral issues.  Erica is open to working through relational stress, trauma, or any other challenges in life that may occur. Her approaches to therapy are collaborative, involving Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered. She also incorporates Interpersonal Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques into her sessions through mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. Her main focus is to give each client the individual care that they need to understand their well-being and achieve their goals.

Meet Gerliyne!

Gerliyne “GG” Gedeon graduated from Capella University in 2019 with a Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Applied
Behavioral Analysis. She is currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Liberty University, completing her Master’s Degree in December 2024. Gerliyne has experience working with college-aged children and teens on the autism spectrum, students, young adults and parents. Gerliyne has worked with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, trauma and grief/loss. She is fluent in both English and Haitian Creole.

Gerliyne incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities in therapy, such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trauma-Informed, Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy, to address anxiety and depression, help clients become more self-aware of themselves and their thoughts, and be able to meditate and process through to rewire their way of thinking. She believes we are capable of becoming the best version of ourselves if we learn to separate ourselves from our problems.

Gerliyne values cultural diversity and client choice in seeking treatment. She created a safe space for her clients to explore all their emotions. Gerliyne likes helping clients discover their strengths to problem-solve and heal from their experiences. She believes that building trust with her clients is the best way to uncover the real problems that are affecting their day-to-day lives and help them become better versions of themselves. Her goal is to promote happy thoughts and positive behaviors.
